The Second Place That Created Me ; Built by Defeat, Driven by Revenge

Image
Every Second Place Was a Declaration of War... Most people hate losing. I don't. Losing is simple. When you lose, the result is clear. You know where you stand, you know what went wrong, and you know how much work is left to do. What I hate is second place. There is something uniquely irritating about being close enough to victory to almost touch it, only to watch someone else walk away with it. Over the years, I have realized that second place affects me differently than it affects most people. It doesn't make me sad. It doesn't make me quit. It doesn't even make me angry for very long. Instead, it creates a permanent bookmark in my memory. Years later, I may forget what I ate that morning or what clothes I wore that day, but I will remember the feeling of standing one step away from the top. People often say that you should forgive, forget, and move on. I have never been wired that way. I don't carry hatred, but I do carry memory. Every time someone underestimate...

Midnight Diaries : The Late Night Thoughts of mine before bed

Image
Has it ever happened with you? You go to bed after a long tiring day and these countless thoughts come back to haunt you. You start talking to yourself all of a sudden in the bed itself, giving justifications and imagining the mistakes that could have been corrected. I have read somewhere that whenever a thought haunts you, you write it down on a piece of paper, and then you burn it down. Well I don't play with fire. I decided to write down my thoughts in a blog post. Right here. Hopefully I will sleep peacefully today... Because instead of talking this stuff to myself, I am trying to experiment it by talking, I mean writing it here...

To be a Lone Wolf or not to be - That is the question

People who don't want to mix up with others and prefer to take matters into their own hands. Yes, that is what Lone Wolf means. I am sure you must seen this image every where on the web, be it in the form of memes or whatsoever. To clear doubts, being Lone Wolf is not like being an animal (Just Kidding). Let us have a look at the formal definition from Google on this topic. The fact that being incorporating this kind of personality is not an easy task. It has its own disadvantages. But what makes it a good trait in a person, is how you cope with the challenges encountered while being a lone wolf. Let us have a look at the potential challenges people with these personalitie...

Be Seen or Be Forgotten: The Brutal Truth About Visibility and Impact

Image
Being visible doesn’t just mean posting on social media or being loud in meetings. Visibility is about showing up with intention , making your values, ideas, and contributions known. This thought has been constantly crossing my mind over the past few weeks. It further amplified when I spotted someone's WhatsApp status like this: Let’s get straight to it. In this world, it’s not enough to be good . You have to be seen as being good . People don’t reward effort. They reward exposure . People don’t remember the silent genius in the back. They remember the one who spoke up, showed up, and made an impression, even if that impression was just louder confidence with less competence . (Quite frustrating, isn't it?) If that pisses you off, good. It should. That anger? That’s your inner potential getting sick of your own silence.
